This year's cultural event at Thread was a highlight of the year.
Each year, we provide a budget for arts and culture programs at rural schools in Tambacounda. The students develop theater and dance pieces, create paintings, collages and sculptures, and at the end of the year share their creations with their peers at a large cultural event at Thread. In addition to showcasing their artistry, the students show off their general knowledge in a quiz competition where teams compete against one another for the grand prize — emotions and excitement run high, and this year was no exception! Welcoming hundreds of students and their families to Thread each year for the event is one of the highlights of the calendar.
