Over the weekend, we hosted the final of the annual regional soccer tournament at Thread in Sinthian. The teams representing the villages of Sannkagne and Ngeen went head to head. After a neck and neck fight, Ngeen ended up on top. Congratulations to the 2026 champions!

The tournament, which we have hosted since 2015, draws about 16 teams from the region. It is also about more than soccer. It's an occasion for thousands of people who are dispersed across a broad rural zone to come together to see friends, make new ones, and learn about the agriculture and cultural projects at Thread. Often, because the local teams meet in their village schools, they help clean them up and ready them for the academic year which begins in October.
