The Sisters of Saint Joseph de Cluny are a French order of nuns dedicated to providing basic family healthcare and education in the poorest parts of the developing world. Nuns from Europe, India, Africa, and America live directly amongst the people they work with providing services to populations that both government and society have left behind.
Their model is simple and replicated across the globe. They identify communities in need and establish a facility with a simple medical clinic and a primary school. They offer nutritional supplementation and care for people with illnesses that do not require hospitalization. These facilities are independently supported, with funds from the small amount they charge patients when possible and fundraising by the sisters who appeal directly to NGOs such as AFLK for project specific help.
